Donors

BRLF’s philosophy is to work through a partnership model. Amongst the most important stakeholders in the foundation’s endeavours are its donors, who have actively supported the foundation.

The major donor of BRLF is the Ministry of Rural Development, Government of India. The MoRD has promised to release Rs 500 crore for development of a corpus of the society. BRLF has already received Rs 200 crores as corpus grant from the central government towards fulfilling its objectives.

BRLF has also received grants from some private donors such as Tata Trusts, UNDP, Ford Foundation. Arghyam and Axis Bank Foundation. Tata Trusts and Ford Foundation have each contributed Rs 10 crore to the corpus of the Foundation. UNDP has granted an amount of Rs 1 crore towards BRLF’s operations. Arghyam is supporting BRLF’s flagship initiative – Participatory Ground Water Management through a grant of Rs 93.3 lakhs for a period of five years. BRLF has also entered into a tripartite agreement with the Axis Bank Foundation (ABF) to jointly fund SRIJAN’s project targeting 50,000 households. ABF has committed Rs 19.4 crore for this initiative.
